Our History

The Association of Life Underwriters Botswana (ALUB) was officially registered with the Registrar of Societies on 28 May 2018, marking a significant milestone in the organisation of life insurers in Botswana.
This pivotal moment was the culmination of a shared recognition among life insurers of the profound impact they have on the financial well-being of Batswana. It was understood that by uniting their efforts, they could more effectively engage with stakeholders and amplify their contributions to the community.

The founding Executive Committee, instrumental in shaping the direction of ALUB, included Thebe Modikwa as Chairman, Ratanang Tsayang as Deputy Chairman, Patricia Raditholo as Secretary, Gift Noko as Deputy Secretary, and Kabo Motsumi as Treasurer.

This leadership team convened for the association’s inaugural meeting on 9th February 2018, hosted in the Botswana Life Boardroom, setting the stage for ALUB’s journey towards enhancing the life insurance sector in Botswana.
